Mythic AI has opened a Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, India. The new site will support development of the company's analogue AI chips.
The company plans to give its India team ownership over several stages of chip design and product development. The announcement was made on September 28, 2026.
Mythic AI builds chips using analogue compute-in-memory technology. This design processes AI tasks inside the memory itself instead of moving data back and forth between memory and processors.
The company says this method lowers energy use and makes AI inference work more efficient.
What the Bengaluru Team Will Do
The Bengaluru centre will act as a product development and innovation hub. It will cover VLSI design, physical design, design-for-test, systems engineering and applications engineering.
The India team is already working on front-end design and verification of the company's core analogue compute technology. It is also handling analogue-digital hybrid physical design and testing methods built to meet automotive standards.
The team will take part in both pre-silicon and post-silicon engineering work. It will also contribute to projects across the company's full chip portfolio.
Chairman and CEO Taner Ozcelik said India has "an exceptional depth of semiconductor engineering talent and a rapidly evolving technology ecosystem." He called Bengaluru an important location for the company's next phase of growth.
"Our objective is to build a premier AI chip development team that can take meaningful ownership across multiple areas of product development," Ozcelik said.
Mythic India vice president Manoj Kumar said the city gives the company access to skilled chip engineers across many fields. He said he is excited to build a team that will help deliver the company's roadmap of energy-efficient AI products.
The Vanguard Platform
Mythic AI's main product is the Vanguard platform. It combines analogue and digital computing on a single chiplet design.
The platform targets several markets. These include driver-assistance systems in cars, defence, robotics, physical AI, enterprise AI and data centres.
The company claims Vanguard can deliver efficiency gains of up to 100 times compared with standard approaches. It also says one Vanguard rack can match the output of 650 conventional racks.
The platform has been validated for tactical-edge use through a strategic partnership with Lockheed Martin.
Bengaluru is one of India's largest chip design hubs. Demand for workers in chip design, verification, testing and systems engineering continues to grow there.
Future plans for the centre include product engineering, test and characterisation engineering, systems engineering and intelligent sensing chip development.
Mythic AI expects its Bengaluru team to quadruple in size by the first quarter of 2027.
