SpaceXAI released a new artificial intelligence model called Grok 4.5 on July 9, 2026. The company says it is built for coding, business tasks, and general knowledge work.
Grok 4.5 is described as the company's strongest model to date. It was trained alongside the coding tool Cursor.
The model targets software developers first. It can write and fix code in languages such as Rust and C/C++.
SpaceXAI says Grok 4.5 can also build full apps from a single prompt. This includes projects that use tools like Three.js for graphics and simulations.
Built for Office Work
Grok 4.5 is not limited to coding. It is now the default model inside Grok Build, the company's workspace tool.
The model can create Excel spreadsheets with formulas spread across multiple sheets. It can also pull information from the web while building a file.
In PowerPoint, Grok 4.5 can design slide layouts and diagrams. In Word, it can write full documents based on a short prompt.
SpaceXAI says the model leaves notes inside finished files. These notes are meant to explain the work for later reference.
Speed and Pricing
SpaceXAI says Grok 4.5 runs at 80 tokens per second. The company describes this as faster than typical flash-speed models from other developers.
The model also uses fewer tokens to finish tasks. SpaceXAI says this makes it about four times more efficient than a rival model on one coding benchmark.
Pricing for Grok 4.5 is set at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens. SpaceXAI says the lower token use can cut total costs for developers.
The model was trained using tens of thousands of NVIDIA GB300 GPUs. SpaceXAI focused on filtering its training data by quality and topic before the run began.
Reinforcement learning was used across hundreds of thousands of tasks during training. Most of those tasks were centered on software engineering work.
Grok 4.5 is available now inside Grok Build. It is also live in Cursor across all subscription plans.
Developers can reach the model through the SpaceXAI API console. The company published sample code showing how to call the model directly.
Grok 4.5 is not yet available in the European Union. SpaceXAI says it expects to launch there in mid-July.
