Zoom Launches AI-Powered Revenue OS to Compete With Salesforce

Zoom Communications introduced a new AI-powered revenue OS on Tuesday. The launch is part of the company's push into the customer relationship management market.

The video communications company unveiled the platform during Salesforce's Dreamforce 2026 conference in San Francisco. The event is one of the largest tech gatherings in the country.

Zoom is best known as a video meeting platform. The company was founded in 2011 and grew fast during the pandemic lockdowns of 2020 and 2021.

Since then, Zoom's revenue growth has slowed. Its market share among small businesses, consumers and enterprises has also dropped as Microsoft Teams became a common choice for business video calls.

What the Revenue OS Does

The new revenue OS connects buyer intelligence, customer conversations and revenue execution in one platform. It is meant to give sales teams a single place to manage deals.

Zoom also introduced new Revenue Accelerator capabilities called Engage and Forecast. Engage lets users build multichannel sales sequences across email, phone and other tasks.

Forecast turns deal-level signals into live, real time sales forecasts. Zoom customers also get access to Common Room by Zoom, which links buyer intelligence with conversation intelligence, outreach and forecasting.

The launch follows Zoom's acquisition of Common Room in July. The company did not disclose the price of the deal.

Common Room is an AI-native customer intelligence and go-to-market platform. Its tools are now built into Zoom's new revenue OS.

Zoom's Strategy in a Crowded Market

Daren Brabham, an analyst at ETR, a subsidiary of Futurum Group, said the acquisition and new platform show Zoom trying to diversify. He said the company wants to gain back enterprise customers it has lost in recent years.

Brabham said fewer companies are adopting or increasing their spend on Zoom compared to those cutting back or replacing the tool. That trend has pushed Zoom to build new products.

Zoom has already launched other tools outside video meetings. These include Zoom Slides for presentations, plus integrations with Google Sheets and Canvas.

The company also offers ZoomMate, which connects users to outside apps from Salesforce, Google and Microsoft. Brabham said the revenue OS is Zoom's attempt to become one piece of a broader productivity and CRM toolset.

He said Zoom faces a tough fight against established CRM companies like Salesforce and HubSpot. Those companies already have large customer bases built over many years.

Brabham said switching CRM systems takes a lot of work for most businesses. That makes companies stick with the CRM they already use, a pattern he called inertia.

Still, Brabham said a business already using Zoom for meetings might consider its revenue OS. He said pricing will play a role in that decision.

He added that success will depend on whether Zoom offers hands-on help to move customers away from their current CRM platform. Zoom has not detailed a specific plan for that kind of support yet.
