Trump Claims Hundreds of Billions in Stock Gains in Truth Social Post

Donald Trump spent more than 10 hours on Sunday posting AI-generated images and claims on Truth Social. The posts covered stocks, Iran, and his own image as a national leader.

One image showed Trump seated in front of stock market monitors in the White House. The caption claimed he made "Hundreds of Billions of Dollars on Stocks" and other holdings for the country.

The post gave no evidence for the figure. Trump wrote that he does this "for our Country, not myself," and said he is criticized unfairly for it.

Intel Stake and Truth API Scrutiny

The Trump Administration took a 10% stake in the semiconductor company Intel in August 2025. That stake is now worth more than $50 billion.

Trump has faced criticism over a separate feature called Truth API. The tool costs $100,000 a month and gives early access to policy announcements that can move financial markets.

In July, U.S. senators asked the Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate whether Trump Media, the parent company of Truth Social, is breaking federal securities laws through the Truth API feature.

Trump Media's interim CEO has said the feature came from market demand. The company has not been charged with any wrongdoing.

AI Images of Iran and the Ongoing War

Trump also shared images and claims about Iran. The posts came more than six months after the U.S. and Israel began combat operations in the country.

One chart claimed Iran's currency is "destroyed." Another labeled Iran a "Failing Nation" on a map graphic.

None of the economic claims included a verifiable source. Some experts have said it is too early to assume Iran's economy has collapsed.

Other images showed explosions near Kharg Island and ships at sea. One showed Trump swinging a hammer shaped like an American flag at a map of Iran.

Trump also posted images of himself in hero-style roles. Some showed him with futuristic robots near the Capitol building.

Other images depicted him as a wrestler in a red cap draped in the American flag. Another placed him inside a Space Force command center.

A separate group of images showed U.S. territory expanding to new places. One labeled the Strait of Hormuz as a "new U.S. Territory."

Another image showed the Moon with the words "The Moon is Ours." A different post relabeled Lake Ontario as "Lake America."

The Lake Ontario image followed an executive order Trump signed to rename the lake. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney responded by saying Canada will keep calling it Lake Ontario.

The White House did not respond to a request for comment on the images.
