Other speakers are also expected. Hugging Face CEO Clément Delangue will join the session, CNBC reported.
Yoshua Bengio is also expected to take part. He is co-chair of the UN's Independent International Scientific Panel on AI.
Chinese AI Firms Invited to Speak
The meeting will include voices from China as well. Reuters reported that Chinese AI companies DeepSeek and Moonshot have been invited to make statements.
DeepSeek is expected to participate, according to Reuters. However, its founder Liang Wenfeng does not plan to attend, the report said, citing a source familiar with the matter.
The reports did not say who will speak on behalf of DeepSeek. They also did not say whether Moonshot will send a representative.
France Leads the Security Council Session
France is convening Wednesday's meeting. The Security Council is the UN body responsible for maintaining international peace and security.
Reuters said the meeting will examine growing concerns over AI's impact on international security. The talks come as worries rise about increasingly capable AI systems.
One concern raised is the potential loss of human control over these systems. This issue is expected to be part of the discussion.
