Google has rolled out new travel tools inside AI Mode in Search. The update lets people track flight prices, check point or mile costs, and book hotels without leaving the chat.
The company announced the changes on August 27, 2026. James Byers, a group product manager at Google Search, shared details about the new features.
AI Mode already let users compare flights and hotels using real-time data. The new tools build on that by adding price tracking and full booking options.
Tracking Flight Prices in Real Time
Google Flights has offered price tracking for years. That same tool is now built into AI Mode conversations.
Users can describe where and when they want to fly. AI Mode then shows flight options using data from more than 300 partner airlines and travel sites.
If someone wants to wait for a better deal, they can ask AI Mode to track the price. Google will send an email if the price changes for those dates and destinations.
This tracking feature is now available in over 180 countries and territories. Google says it works the same way across regions.
AI Mode can also show the cost of a flight in points or miles instead of cash. Users can ask about specific loyalty programs, like American Airlines miles, to see matching options.
The same feature works for hotels. People can ask to see hotel costs in points for a specific rewards program.
This part of the tool launches with support for Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Choice Hotels International, Hilton, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Google plans to add Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM Airlines, and Lufthansa Group in the coming weeks.
Booking Hotels Without Leaving the Chat
Google is also letting users book hotels directly through AI Mode. People can describe their trip and hotel preferences to get a list of options.
That list includes guest reviews and details to help compare choices. Once a user picks a hotel, they can ask AI Mode to complete the booking.
Users then select "Continue on Google" next to a partner listing. From there, they choose a room type, review the cancellation policy, and pay through Google Pay.
The hotel or booking platform acts as the merchant of record for these bookings. That means the partner company handles any customer service issues, not Google.
Hotel booking partners for this launch include Booking.com, Choice Hotels International, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Priceline, Trip.com, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
The hotel booking feature has started rolling out in the United States in English. Google says it will expand to more partners over the coming weeks.
Flight price tracking and points or miles viewing are already available worldwide as of this week. Google is directing users to try the new tools now inside AI Mode in Search.
